Managed Futures is an alternative investment strategy (together with real estate, private equity, hedge funds). Managers of these programs are Commodity Trading Advisors and they trade on different futures markets around the globe (mostly stock indexes, but also other financial and commodity contracts). Today there are about 1400 CTAs managing approximately $180 billion.
